Mrs. Bernice Rivers
Mrs. Bernice Rivers, age 86, departed this life Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at her residence. The native and lifelong resident of Statesboro, Georgia, was the oldest of 12 children born to the late Lonnie and Winnie Graham.
    Mrs. Rivers was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rivers Sr.; five children and several siblings.
    She is survived by her seven children, Luella Jamerson, Statesboro, Ga.; Betty (Doyle) Washington, Indianapolis, Ind.; Annette Rivers, Henry Rivers Jr., Deborah (Currome) Hunter and Darvin (Elaine) Rivers, all of Statesboro, Ga.; and Janet Rivers, Pembroke, Ga.; five sisters, Myrtle Bourne and Laura Fulton, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Johnnie Pearl (Ken) West, Jacksonville, Fla.; Julia Blackmon, Hollywood, Fla.; and Juliaette (Lloyd Arthur) Frazier, Hollywood, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Bernice Rivers will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 15 East Parrish Street, Statesboro, GA with Bro. Harmon Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
