STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Ricky Parker, age 55, passed into rest Monday, August 20, 2018, at his residence.
    The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Lester and Derecca Kent Parker Sr. He attended the public schools of Bulloch County and was a member of the Statesboro High School Class of 1981.
    Ricky was employed with Penske Logistics as a truck driver.
    He is preceded in death by his siblings, Willie James Parker, Lester Parker Jr. and Louise Parker Kemp.
    He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Donna Horton Parker, Statesboro, Ga.; two daughters, Christina (Casey) Meyers, Tifton, Ga.; and Saratina Weiss, Brooklet, Ga.; five stepsons, Danny (Natasha) Hendrix, Statesboro, Ga.; Keith (Becky) Hendrix, Brooklet, Ga.; Josh Hendrix, Statesboro, Ga.; James Ellrod, Warner Robins, Ga.; and Shane (Charlotte) Ellrod, Statesboro, Ga.; brothers, Wilbert (Beverly) Parker, Far Rockaway, N.Y.; and Wayman Parker, Statesboro, Ga.; four sisters, Sarah Hughes, Gladys Williams, Gearlean (Eugene) Johnson and Teresa (Virgil) Jackson, all of Statesboro, Ga.; extended siblings, Myra Hilton, Sylvania, Ga.; Crandall (Elsie) Lewis, Atlanta, Ga.; Julian (Betty) Lewis, Sylvania, Ga.; Sabrina Lewis, Montgomery, Ala.; Tonya Moore, Statesboro, Ga.; Dewayne Taylor, Texas; Rozelle Lewis-Cusack, New York; Urshella (Robert) Jones, Sylvania, Ga.; Jackie (Tony) Rose, Tampa, Fla.; Consuelo (Page) Lewis-Hodge, Atlanta, Ga.; and Xavier Lewis, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Frances Parker, Statesboro, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Virgil (Tracy) Horton and Steve (Melody) Horton, both of Statesboro, Ga.; an uncle, Benny Gordon, Statesboro, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Family visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
    Mr. Parker will lie in state at the church on the day of the service from noon until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
    The funeral service for Mr. Parker will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center, 306 Shelby Street, Statesboro, GA, with Bishop Larry Jones, presiding, the Rev. Samuel Watkins, eulogist. Burial will be in the Brooklet City Cemetery.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
