ELLABELL, Ga. -- Mr. Manzy Vernon Brown, age 53, died on Thursday, his birthday, June 21, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
    Mr. Brown was born in Savannah, Ga., and grew up in Stilson, where he attended Stilson Elementary and later graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1983.
    He studied piano for over 10 years before working for Great Dane Trailers for several years, CSX and later owning his own business, Coastal Fire Extinguishers, until becoming disabled in 2014.
    He resided at the Ogeechee River and enjoyed going to the mountains and attending races.
    He is survived by his parents, Mr. Manzy E. Brown and Mrs. Linda Moore Brown of Ellabell; and his brother, Don Brown of Stilson. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Old Fellowship Baptist Church.
    The funeral service will follow visitation at 3 p.m. with Earl Saxon officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Phil Cooper, William Fail, Chris Batayias, Dr. James Marvin Brown, Chad Brown, Will Brown, Mark Brown and Tracy Miller.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Bartleson and Lloyd Moore.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Old Fellowship Baptist Church, 5526 U.S. Highway 80 East, Brooklet, GA 30415.
