PORTAL, Ga. -- Mr. Jimmy Lee Scott, age 63, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was a native of Jenkins County, a member of Lane’s Grove Baptist Church and a former employee of the City of Portal Worship Assembly.
    He is survived by his children, Angie Carswell (Dock), Garfield, Ga.; and Maria Huff, (Larry Lee), Portal, Ga.; two sisters, Minister Annie Washington (Wilken), Portal; and Lizzie Alvin (Danford), Metter, Ga.; two brothers, Minister Kenneth Scott (Mae Frances), Portal; and Deacon Bobby Scott (Evangelist Mary), Metter, Ga.; grandchildren, Taleah Mincey, Tecarrian Mincey, Tyler Robertson, Shannon Robertson, Toni Robertson, Jarquavis Robertson, Doctavis Carswell, Cheryl Lee, Robert Lee, Whispel Lee and Layla Berry; godson, Darnell, bka “Teddy Bear”; special friend, Maggie Mae Cheley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service for Mr. Scott will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. at The City of David Worship Assembly with Pastor Lisa Deloach as eulogist and Elder Emory Hagins, presiding. Burial will be in Free Will Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Viewing will begin at noon on Friday and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
