A celebration in memory of Joy Lynn Cobb of Cordele was held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Lakeshore Baptist Church. Joy, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Statesboro and was the daughter of the late Orren Lester Brannen Sr. and Ruby Parish Brannen. She was a retired comptroller at Ft. Stewart Military Base and a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church.
Joy is survived by three sons and their wives, Stephen and Sylvia Cobb, Bryan and Melissa Cobb and David and Terry Cobb, all of Cordele; a brother, Orren L. Brannen Jr.; seven grandchildren, Allison Cobb, Michelle Moody, Jennifer Council, and her husband, Mike; Matthew Cobb, Leah Cobb, Brittany Cobb and Austin Cobb; and one great-grandchild, Kayla Moody.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott McGee Cobb; and sisters, Carolyn Bichel and Martha Dean Beachum.
The family requests that memorials be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church, 151 Lakeshore Drive, Cordele, GA 31015.
