YMCA grand opening Saturday

Statesboro Family YMCA, at 409 Clairborne Ave., hosts its grand opening Saturday and is inviting the public to participate in free introductory activities throughout the day. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for 10 a.m., followed by Trunk-or-Treat from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a community cookout from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Facility tours, fitness demos and yard games will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families and individuals can join the YMCA for a commitment of annual dues with no joiner’s fee Saturday. The facility in the located at the former Sallie Zetterower School features and 11,000-square-foot wellness center with “state of the art” cardio and other exercise equipment, a boxing studio, separate group exercise, yoga and spin-class spaces and a free child-watch program for members.
