Work off that turkey with a trail ride

A two-day  trail ride, dance and camp-out offers the perfect solution to work off that Thanksgiving dinner. Harold Aldrich is hosting a ride with primitive camping Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Triple A Rodeo Arena on Harville Road in Statesboro.
Campers will be able to set up camp after 3 p.m. Thursday. The Friday ride begins at 1 p.m., with music and dancing at the arena and campsite afterward.
Ride-out time Saturday is 10 a.m., with a lunch break before riding back to camp. A lunch trailer will be available, and lunches will be delivered to the break site. Music and dancing will be held at back at the camp again Saturday night.
Camping is primitive, and riders will need to bring buckets for watering horses. All dogs must be kept leashed and will not be allowed on trails. Proof of negative Coggins tests will be required for each horse and will be checked at the gate.
Triple A Arena is located on Harville Road. Turn onto Harville Road off Ga. 67 at H's Food Mart, drive two miles and look for the arena sign on the right. Ride fees vary, and non-riders are welcome to attend the dances.
