Willingway to open outpatient clinic

Patients of a local recovery hospital will soon be able to seek outpatient services at a new location.
Willingway Hospital, located on Jones Mill Road, will soon offer outpatient services at a new satellite facility on Savannah Avenue.
“We’re shooting for the week after Labor Day,” said Jimmy Mooney, chairman of the board for the hospital.
Until now, all services offered by the hospital were confined to the main facility, but Mooney said “We want to open up services to the community. Having a community presence outside the hospital will allow us to do that.”
There is limited space at the hospital, and having outpatient services at the Savannah Avenue location will help ease the problem, he said.
“Our outpatient area is growing, and different people have different needs,” he said. “We needed to expand services on an outpatient level.”
Having acquired a building on Savannah Avenue that once held a floral shop, “We can hopefully serve more people in the community,” Mooney said. “People will be able to bring their families in for services such as community education, assessments and low-level to intense outpatient services.”
The new facility will be more accessible and will “be a real addition to the community,” he said. An exact date for the outpatient clinic’s opening has not yet been set.
