Two incidents Thursday night involving armed suspects add up to three armed robbery incidents this week in Statesboro.

Statesboro police issued warrants Friday for two suspects wanted in two separate robberies Thursday.

Arrest warrants were issued for Curtis Marco Evans, 28, of Jenkins County, charging him with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and obstruction, in connection with a holdup on Vista Circle, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said Friday.

Warrants were also issued for a man suspected in another robbery that took place a few hours later at The Avenue at Southern.

Bradley Javon Edwards, 23, of an undetermined Statesboro address, is charged with armed robbery in connection with that incident. Further arrests are possible, Turner said.

Evans is suspected to have been involved in an armed robbery in the parking lot of Vista View Apartments on Vista Circle at around 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Turner said.

According to police incident reports, the victim was playing video games at a friend's home when the robbery took place.

Afterward, "... the victim immediately came to the police department to make the report, Turner said. "According to the victim, he was at the apartments to visit a friend and was confronted by an unknown black male carrying a handgun. The black male pointed the handgun at the victim and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled the scene on foot towards South College Street."

Further investigation resulted in Evans being identified as the suspect, he said.

A few hours later, police were called to the scene of another armed robbery, Turner said. Police investigators have not linked the incidents.

Officers were called to The Avenue at Southern on Georgia Avenue around 9:49 p.m., Turner said.

"According to the victims ... three unknown black males entered the apartment with firearms and demanded money," he said. The victims were held at gunpoint and the suspects took two laptop computers, an AK-47 rifle, several pairs of shoes, two cellphones and a wallet, according to incident reports.

The suspect then fled the apartment complex in a white Chevrolet Impala with silver-and-red border around the license plate, according to a Nixle alert issued shortly after the incident.

"Two of the victims received minor injuries in this incident after being struck by the suspects," Turner said. "They were self-treated at the scene and did not require medical personnel to respond."

After further investigation, Evans was identified as one of the three suspects, Turner said.

The two armed robbery incidents Thursday follow another armed robbery which occurred Monday at The Grove Apartments. Four men — Shamus Robert Goss, 19, Statesboro Place Circle; Kadeem Dave Josiah, 21, Statesboro Place Circle; Jeffrey Harrison Joseph, 18, Duluth; and Jamal Winfrey, 20, Lithonia — were each charged with armed robbery. Goss was also charged with giving false statements and false report of a crime.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Evans or Edwards, or the identity of the other two suspects at large who were involved in the robbery at The Avenue at Southern, is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912)-764-9911. Detective Sgt. James Winskey is assigned as the lead detective in the Vista Circle incident, while Detective Kevin Wadley is assigned as the lead detective on the case at The Avenue at Southern.
