house fire

An autopsy revealed positive identification of the victim of a fatal house fire Saturday as being the homeowner, Ray Clifford Beasley, 61, said Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch.

Beasley's body was found after Bulloch County firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded to a house fire on Cliponreka Road around 6:20 a.m. Saturday. The house and a garage, built separately from the home, were engulfed and destroyed by the blaze, said Bulloch County Fire Chief Christopher Ivey.

The investigation, conducted by the state fire marshal's office and Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, continues, said Bulloch County sheriff's Capt. Todd Hutchens.

Futch said further study regarding the autopsy is expected to reveal the cause and manner of Beasley's death.
