U.S. Marines and Army veteran Dan Foglio gives Martha Wells a kiss on the cheek after receiving the Daughters of the American Revolution Americanism Medal during Wednesday's community Veterans Day observance.
In this year’s Veterans Day ceremony, held Wednesday at the Averitt Center for the Arts, featured speaker Lonnie Ellis, post commander of the American Legion Dester Allen Post 90, delivered the keynote address and put special emphasis on the sacrifices made by veterans’ families when their loved ones leave for duty and during their lives after service. Additionally, the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented a first-time honor, the DAR Americanism Medal, to Dan Foglio, the senior vice commander of the American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90. Here are a few pictures from Wednesday’s ceremony.
