A Swainsboro man was killed Monday afternoon when he pulled into the path of another car after stopping at an intersection in Candler County.
William Roy Reese, 70, was driving north on Rosemary Church Road, and stopped his 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup at the intersection of Portal-Metter Highway around 1:18 p.m. Monday, said Georgia State Patrol Senior Trooper D. H. Averitt.
Then Reese pulled into the path of Kristopher Kreider, 31, Metter, who was heading east in a 1983 Chevrolet pickup truck, he said. Kreider's truck struck Reese's truck in the driver's side.
After the impact, Reese's truck struck a 2002 Ford F-250 driven westbound by Kenneth  Michael Donaldson, 64, Metter. who was trying to make a right turn onto Rosemary Church Road.
Averitt said Donaldson suffered minor injuries but required transportation to the hospital for treatment. Kreider only had complaints of minor injuries, but Reese was killed in the accident, he said.
    No charges were filed.
