Several Realtors from Statesboro Board of Realtors gathered alongside hundreds of their fellow Georgia Realtors for a day of advocacy and education at the Georgia Capitol.
The annual Georgia Realtors Legislative Day draws more than 850 Realtors from across the state to Atlanta, and gives real estate professionals the opportunity to meet with their elected officials to discuss how proposed legislation could potentially affect real estate and, in turn, the community.
Local Realtors who made the journey to Atlanta included Michelle Rushing (Statesboro Board president), Michelle Franklin, Hazel Hendrix, Everett Kennedy and Cindy Osborne. The group met with their elected officials and discussed issues that concern them, with topics including eminent domain and HOA fees. Members were able to meet with Jon Burns, Georgia House Majority Leader, and with Butch Parrish and Jan Tankersley, state legislators who represent parts of Bulloch County in the General Assembly.
State Realtors hosted a luncheon for all Legislative Day attendees at the Georgia Freight Depot, in which Gov. Nathan Deal was the featured speaker.
