Statesboro man, 19, arrested after Morris Heights shooting

A 19-year-old Statesboro man was arrested early Monday morning after a shooting at Morris Heights Apartments. Malik Rasheed Spaulding-Puckett, of Scotch Pine Avenue, remains in the Bulloch County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm within the city limits, discharge of a firearm on the property of another, possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of a felony and first-degree criminal damage to property, according to jail records. Statesboro police officers were dispatched to Peg-Wen Boulevard around 12:26 a.m. Monday regarding a "suspicious burgundy ... Chevrolet Silverado near a residence," Deputy Chief Rob Bryan, interim chief, said in a statement released Monday afternoon.
