SPD seizes pot, jails four

The Statesboro Police Impact Team seized cash, marijuana, pills and an assault-style rifle Thursday as an undercover operation exposed an apparent plan to sell drugs.

Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren said the four were charged and jailed after officers executed search warrants and seized the evidence.

Nigel Kykavein Hillie, 19, was listed in Bulloch County Jail records as living at a Rucker Lane, Statesboro, address, but Warren said he is originally from Moultrie. He faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II controlled substances with intent to distribute and possession of a drug-related object.

Cam’ron Tyrell Ponder, 20, of 6th Street West in Moultrie, is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a drug-related object.

Warren said Raekwon Perez Ward, 19, of South Street in Moultrie, was jailed on charges of theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a drug-related object.

The fourth suspect, Billy Howard, 20, listed in jail records as being of 10th Street in Moultrie, also had a Valdosta address, Warren said. Howard is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful use of communication facilities and possession of a drug-related object.

The men are being held without bond in the Bulloch County Jail pending further investigation and court hearings.
