Why does Statesboro ... Bulloch County and the state of Georgia ... waste money buying speed limit signs? ... Very few people pay any attention to the speed limit ... including the law enforcement as they're riding around. ... Sometimes they even use turn signals, but very seldom.

Most of us received a notice concerning the upcoming special election for Statesboro and Bulloch County. ... It begins with misspelling municipal in the title of the notice ... and continues to treat us to two more ... receive and ... you're. ... And a strange ommission. ... Our ID must contain a photograph of. It doesn't say what the photograph should be of, maybe our pets or something. ... Please, running spell check is not enough. We need to pre ... proofread as well.

All Christians and all church people ... should go to the tag office ... and get their little ... 'In God We Trust' tag decal ... put it on your tag over the county ... and support 'In God We Trust'.

There are more and more foreclosures in the Herald. ... How can the tax assessor's office say that we have not been much affected by the housing crisis and give us only a slight decrease in home values for tax purposes? ... Many are not happy with that ... even though not all are going to the trouble ... of contesting it with the assessor's office.

I want to thank Mr. Tatum, the county engineer, for responding so quickly to the need for rumble strips at Highway 46 and Ash Branch Church Road. I feel much safer driving through that intersection.

I agree with all who have called in regarding the man who shot the cat in the eye with an arrow. How cruel and despicable ... any human being can be. ... To protect his family? Are you kidding me? No one in Bulloch County ... or anywhere else believes that. And, yes, he should pay for the vet bill ... and should serve time for this. ... We're all prayin' for the cat's recovery. And, yes, I know you won't print this, but I think there's a special place in hell reserved for people who are cruel to ... people animals.
