Saturday afternoon while running to the truck, my husband lost a cell phone in a rainstorm. ... There was a nice lady that picked it up. She found it and she called me to let me know she had found it. I just wanna thank her ... for turnin' it in. She took it to Verizon for us. Thank you so much for bein' so nice.

... I was at a game at Mill Creek recreation department ... and I noticed that a lot of the kids did not get to play ball. ... It's the same old thing at the old recreation department. ... Everybody pays the same money, but only certain kids get to play. So, the moms and dads that really couldn't afford to have their kids ... play ball ... are gettin' to sit on the bench ... and the ones who have played before or ... the dads are the coaches are the ones that are gettin' to play. ... It's always been an unfair system and I think Mill Creek's ... continuin' the ... tradition of lettin' the kids who maybe are not really experienced sit on the bench.

... Will our board of education ever learn? ... They spend thousands of taxpayer dollars ... on out of town searches for a superintendent ... when we already have qualified candidates right here in the school system.

As a concerned citizen and property owner ... on the Ogeechee River ... I feel ... the EPD - Environmental Protection Division - should be changed to the IPD - Industrial Protection Division - because they are protecting the industries and not the environment. Thank you.

Well, let's see. President Obama says he has no control over gas prices ... and that the fact that gas prices are soared on his watch ... was other people's fault. ... Okay. ... So, if prices fall be ... below $2 per gallon before election day ... can he take ... credit for that?

Obviously ... McElvee is a favorite son to the Statesboro Herald with his fundamentalist ravings. ... That is tragic. ... Actually, most of us who believe this will not write identifying letters because McElvee's words could lead to violence and more hatred by those who support him. ... Also, unfortunately, is your censorship of anything serious that opposes him in Soundoffs. At least the censor ... will have to hear this.

The caller about $1.87 gas prices under outgoing President Bush left out an important part of the story. ... In the months between April 2007 and July 2008 ... gas rose from $2.36 a gallon to $4.12 a gallon. ... Gas prices did not drop again below $2 a gallon until after Republicans lost the November 2008 presidential election.

In today's Soundoff ... your president has signed into law ... 32 new regulations. That's gonna hurt business, cost the economy and the American people. ... You need to remember ... that President Obama said ... he was gonna fundamentally change United States of America. That means he ... is gonna change it into a Socialist country. ... You will no longer be ... proud to be American because you're free. You're gonna be proud to be American because you're a Communist Socialist ... or Democrat ... as Frances Pott ... Fox Putin said, if you're a Democrat, you're a Socialist and a Communist. ... I hope you like your new status. Bye!
