A Millen man who allegedly had inappropriate contact with a juvenile via the Internet ended up behind bars on child molestation charges.

Zackery Lee Collins, 29, of Old Louisville Road in Millen, did not have actual physical contact with the 13-year-old victim, but was charged Oct. 24 with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes, said Cpl. Justin Samples, the Statesboro Police Department's public information officer,

Bulloch County Jail records show that Collins is being held without bond due to the severity of the charges.

Although there was no actual physical contact between the child, from Statesboro, and Collins, the "content" of the correspondence brought the molestation charges, Samples said.

The interaction between the victim and Collins took place via social media. No further details regarding the incident are being released, as the case is currently ongoing, Samples said.

Jail records state that Collins will be held without bond until further court action.
