Livestock Festival sets schedule

      SYLVANIA - The Screven County Livestock Association announced details this week for the 60th Annual Livestock Festival.
       "Celebrating Livestock's Diamond Anniversary" will be the theme for this year's festival and parade.
       Ray Hicks, Extension Coordinator and Livestock Assoc. Advisor, encourages organizations and businesses to go ahead and start planning their floats and entries for the parade, which is scheduled for April 9.
       "Over the next few weeks, we will partner with the Screven County Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Authority/Better Hometown Program to introduce some new and exciting activities scheduled during the festival," said Hicks.
       The 2011 schedule of events so far is as follows:
3/26       Miss Screven County Livestock Festival Queen Pageant
4/2         BBQ Cook-Off
4/5         Exhibitors and Contributors Breakfast
4/5         Market Hog Show
4/6         Lamb and Market Meat Goat Show
4/7         Cattle Shows
4/9         Livestock Festival Parade, Chicken-Q, and downtown activities
