Prayer warriors with a passion for the nation congregated on the Bulloch County Courthouse lawn Thursday, uniting hearts and joining hands for the 64th National Day of Prayer service, which was the 15th consecutive service for Statesboro. Pastor Ed Neubert, who coordinated the local Day of Prayer, welcomed the gathered crowd: “If there was ever a time to cry out to the Lord for our nation, the time is now.” Pastor Neubert read the scripture for this year’s theme, “Lord, Hear our Cry,” from the Bible in 1 Kings 8:28: “Regard the prayer of your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which your servant is praying before you today.”
