A Portal woman was killed Monday when her own truck rolled over her at a Paradise Estates home.

Portal police Chief Jason Sapp said neighbors found Lisa Malcolm Drury, 56, of Coleman Street, after noticing her truck door was open.

Drury’s elderly father, with whom she lived and cared for, had been in the hospital, and the neighbors, seeing Drury’s truck with the door left open, thought she had returned from the hospital, he said. When they went to visit, they found her in the driveway.

Drury had last been seen at the grocery store Monday around 7 p.m., he said. It is believed “she got out of the truck and it wasn’t in park. It rolled back and she either tried to get back in it and fell or was knocked down, and it ran over her.”

Drury’s father, who had apparently returned home from the hospital but was bedridden, was found safe inside, he said.
