    CORRECTION: Due to an error in a Statesboro Police Department report, Robert Michael Ewert, 56, Dry Branch Village, was incorrectly listed April 9 as being arrested. The correct arrest, according to Bulloch County Jail records, was for Robert Michael Ewert Jr., 28, Dry Branch Village, for seat belt violation and marijuana possession.

    EAST MAIN STREET — A woman said Thursday her niece pushed her during an argument over children.
    JOHN’S PLACE — A patient was transported to the hospital Thursday for evaluation after punching a hole in a wall due to being angry.

    LAKEVIEW ROAD — A woman reported Thursday an “injured spouse” tax refund check belonging to her and her husband was forged in Texas at a Wal-Mart. She told deputies she had never been to Texas.
    BIG BUCK CROSSING — A woman said Thursday her husband’s ex-girlfriend messaged her via social media and by phone, threatening to beat her up.
    OLD THORNE POND ROAD — A woman told deputies she had been hearing gunshots. She said the gunshots were not a problem, but then she began hearing explosions following the gunshots and was concerned.
    HWY. 80 EAST — Thursday, a man called deputies about a man who “has a knife and is scaring the family.” When deputies arrived, the suspect accused another man of spraying rat poison in the house and claimed he “killed my brother … and his family and now he is after me.” The man told deputies he “filled up some holes around the pipe in the bathroom to try to keep him out but he got in anyway.” The family was given information about seeking help for the suspect’s increasingly deteriorating mental illness.

    Officers issued two traffic violation citations Thursday.
