Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office
EAST JONES AVENUE/SOUTH MULBERRY STREET — Warrants were taken for a man who fled from a deputy who stopped him because of a lookout posted by Statesboro police. The man was wanted on several felony warrants. He abandoned his car after being pulled over for a tail light violation and evaded the full effects of two deployments of a Taser (no full contact was made) as he fled.
HIGHWAY 67/ASPEN HEIGHTS APARTMENTS — Deputies arrested a man who was apparently intoxicated and struck a sign with a golf cart, damaging the cart. Another male and a female were with him. No one was injured, but the driver argued with the deputy, failed to perform inebriation tests, cursed, threatened to sue “the Statesboro Police Department” and resisted arrest. He was taken to jail.
At the jail, he further resisted, refusing at first to submit to breath tests and demanded a blood test. A breath test, which he eventually agreed to, showed a blood alcohol percentage of .281 (.08 is legally intoxicated). He continued to argue with the deputy, and his booking process was delayed until he was sober, according to reports.
