Police Report 10-21-11 - Woman arrested for stealing snacks

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    Karen Lydia Johnson, 18, Madison Meadows — theft by shoplifting.
    Leaner Stephon Barney,21, Hampton Williams Road, Gadsden, SC — improper lane change, suspended license.

Incidents
    FAMILY DOLLAR — A woman stole a box of feminine body wash and fled before being caught. In a separate incident a woman was arrested for stealing two Slim Jim snacks.
    THE POINTE AT SOUTHERN — A man reported the theft of $400.
    STADIUM WALK APARTMENTS — A book bag, calculator and lap top computer were stolen.
    In a separate incident a man and woman were robbed at gunpoint by two unknown men who demanded money, but took only a cell phone. The male victim suffered a laceration to the lip.
    In yet another report, a man said another man stole a 2x4 board.
    POJO’S/ WEST MAIN STREET — A manager spotted a man he saw shoplift a Schlitz malt liquor previously and informed police, who ran the man’s information and did not find any reason to arrest him. The man accused of a previous shoplifting asked police what he could do about the store posting his photo declaring him a shoplifter, adding that it is slanderous.
    CAMPUS CLUB APARTMENTS — A cell phone and camera were stolen during a party.
    BRAMPTON AVENUE — A racial slur describing a masked animal was spray painted on a sidewalk.

Arrests
    Joseph Lee Johnson, 34, Cedarwood Acres Mobile Home Park, Register — probation violation.
    Sharon Elaine Kingery, 37 Mimosa court — probation violation.
    Charles Nathan Rucker, 28, Mallard Pond Road — probation violation.
    Brett Alexander Thomas, 37, West Main Street — parole violation, giving false information.
    Hank Wallis Wells, 27, Willow Lane, Brooklet — child support lockup, probation violation.

Incidents
    WOODSHOLE CIRCLE — A woman reported someone used her American Express card without her knowledge or permission.
    WILLIAM JAMES MIDDLE SCHOOL — A man reported two vending machines and $125 stolen. He said this has happened repeatedly in the past and that it also happened Tuesday at Portal High School, where police have videotape of the offender. He showed deputies where the machines were pried open and destroyed.
    GA.67/DENMARK COMMUNITY — A customer said he complained about corn dogs purchased from the store being dry and overheated. He told the clerk, whom he said began screaming at him and pointed fingers in his face. The clerk told deputies it was the customer who began screaming, and said the customer has a habit of complaining about things in the store. No witnesses were available, and both parties were advised of warrant procedures. The customer was served with a criminal trespass warning ordering him to stay out of the store.

Arrests
    Officers issued nine traffic citations Wednesday.
    Richard William Ericson, 20, Statesboro Place — underage possession of alcohol.
    Milfred Wade Zeno Jr., 21, University Villas — driving with suspended license and stop sign violation.

Incidents
    Officers issued four traffic warnings, assisted two motorists, responded to one injured person and two sick persons, responded to two alarms and investigated one accident Wednesday.
