A Statesboro couple were arrested Tuesday after the man bashed his wife in the head with a guitar, and she left bite marks on his shoulder.
Bulloch County sheriff’s Deputy Randall J. Weyer reported Tuesday that he and other deputies met with Lutonja Janiva Jenkins-Sally, 24, at Eagle Trace Mobile Home Park regarding a domestic dispute with her husband, Robert Devlin Jenkins-Sally, 24.
Upon arrival at the U.S. Highway 301 South location around 5:30 a.m., Weyer learned the two had been verbally arguing when “Mr. Jenkins-Sally hit (his wife) in the head with a guitar and kicked her in the head,” he stated in reports.
Weyer located the male suspect walking along Highway 301 South and brought him back to the home, placing him under arrest on charges of family violence-related aggravated assault after a witness to the argument confirmed his wife’s accusations, he said.
Robert Jenkins-Sally then told Weyer his wife “punched him in the face as well as bit him on the left shoulder,” reports stated.
Weyers noted bite marks on the male victim’s shoulder, and when Lutonja Jenkins-Sally became irate and unruly, he ordered her to be quiet, Weyer said.
She then “went to the back bedroom where she started throwing things,” he stated in reports. Because of her behavior, deputies took Lutonja Jenkins-Sally into custody on charges of disorderly conduct, obstruction and family violence-related battery, according to the report.
The battery charge stemmed from her biting her husband on the shoulder. Robert Jenkins-Sally is charged with aggravated assault for using the guitar as a weapon, sheriff’s Investigator Jared Akins said.
Both were taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they late posted bond.
