After an armed robbery and assault Saturday at a home on Morris Street, Statesboro police arrested a man on six new charges ranging from burglary to sexual battery as well as on an Atlanta wanted notice. Charles Clifton, 50, also of Morris Street, has been charged with armed robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual battery. The “wanted person” charge out of Atlanta was for failure to report as a registered sex offender, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a news release issued Monday.
