Police investigate two robberies
Incidents at Park Place, Cambridge The Palms
Statesboro Police Department patch

Police responded last week to two separate robbery incidents where suspects took property from victims by force.

Wednesday morning, a man told officers he engaged in a struggle with an unknown person at Park Place Apartments around 8 a.m., said Statesboro Police Capt. James Winskey.

The victim said the suspect, of whom there was no description in reports, snatched an “undisclosed amount of cash” and fled, he said.

Thursday, a man told police he was accosted by an unknown man outside of Cambridge The Palms Apartments, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

He said around 8 p.m., the suspect approached him and forced him to hand over a cell phone and undisclosed amount of cash, she said. Then, the suspect left. The cell phone was recovered a short distance away, she said.

Neither victim reported injury, and neither suspect was believed to have been armed. Police have not said whether they feel the incidents are linked.

Anyone with information about these or any other crimes in the Statesboro city limits is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at 9`12-764-9911.
