A man police who said threatened to run over someone before ramming his vehicle into several parked cars is behind bars on aggravated assault charges.

Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren said Ronnie Leon Tremble, of Mikell Street, argued with another person before reportedly getting into his car and trying to run the person over on Peachtree Street around 1:10 p.m. Saturday.

Tremble, 56, was apparently intoxicated, and after trying to run the victim over, he rammed his car into several parked vehicles along the street, she said.

After damaging a number of vehicles, Tremble left the scene and went home, where officers found him at his Mikell Street address. Comparing damages to his car with what happened to the other vehicles, officers arrested him on charges of aggravated assault, DUI/less safe, reckless driving and failure to notify owner upon striking an unattended vehicle, she said.

Tremble was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he awaits further court hearings.
