A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night. The incident followed a similar robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning, although police have not linked the incidents.

Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Statesboro police responded to Seasons Apartments, where a Domino's Pizza delivery driver said he was robbed at gunpoint while delivering food.

The suspect was described as "an unknown black male in dark clothing and a mask ... (with) a handgun."

He demanded money from the victim and ran off after the victim handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said.
Responding officers did not locate the suspect. The victim was not injured during the robbery. This case is currently under investigation by the Statesboro Police Department Investigations Bureau.

Police still seek a suspect in Wednesday's armed robbery, which police say they do not believe is connected to Thursday's incident.

A Jimmy Johns delivery driver was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cambridge at Southern. The suspect in that case is a black male, wearing black pants and black shirt, as well as black Nike shoes.

Anyone with information concerning either case is asked to contact Statesboro police Detective Tommy Brown at (912) 764-9911.

Tips may also be submitted anonymously to www.tipsoft.com or by sending a text message starting with "TIPSSPD" to 274637 (CRIMES). All information is strictly confidential, Turner said.
