Almost a week after Harrison Wayne Olliff disappeared, Bulloch County Sheriff's investigators are still actively seeking the 21-year-old Olliff Road man.
Olliff was last seen by a friend Thanksgiving night, and may have been going to Metter or Cobbtown when he left, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Investigators searched a four-county area over the past few days, using a helicopter as well as conducting searches on the ground, said Bulloch County Sheriff's Capt. Todd Hutchens. As of Thursday evening, searchers had found no sign of Olliff or his silver 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, he said.
Olliff's father, Wayne Olliff, said last week his son had eaten Thanksgiving dinner and supper with the family, then went home. Friday afternoon, Olliff's girlfriend phoned, looking for Olliff, thinking he was with family. Olliff's parents believed he was with her.
Olliff had spoken to his girlfriend on the phone very early Friday morning, and he told her "he was playing a game and he was going to go to bed," Wayne Olliff said. When she had not heard from him Friday evening, that's when she called his parents.
Olliff is not answering his cell phone. Calls go immediately to voice mail.
Harrison Olliff is believed to be driving a 2005 silver Chevrolet Colorado with a "Nesmith Walker" drive-out tag or a Georgia tag APR 9338, Anderson said.
Olliff stands about 5'8", and weighs about 130 pounds. His father described his hair as sandy brown, and he has green eyes.
Hutchens said there is no reason to suspect foul play at this time and there is nothing ruling it out. "We can't say yes or no at this time," he said.
Searches, including those by air, have been conducted in Bulloch, Evans, Tattnall and Candler counties.
Anyone with information that may be helpful in locating Olliff's whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement. Information can be confidentially given to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Department at 912-764-1771 or 764-8888, asking for the on-call investigator, Anderson said.
