Preliminary autopsy results proved "inconclusive" Monday regarding how a Clito woman died.
The middle-aged female's body was discovered in her home by family members, and investigators are ruling the death "suspicious."
Since some family members have not yet been informed of the woman's death, Bulloch County Sheriff's investigators still are not releasing the name of the woman found dead in her Hawk Lane home in the Eagle Village Mobile Home Park off U.S. 301 North.
"The autopsy was performed and the manner of death was designated primarily as ‘undetermined," said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson. "Further laboratory tests are pending, and the investigation continues."
After the family members found the woman's body inside her bedroom around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, they called 911 and dispatchers sent sheriff's deputies to the scene.
Bulloch County Sheriff's Inv. Walter Deal and crime scene investigator Bill Black arrived at the scene and began processing evidence, placing crime scene tape around the home.
While the death is being investigated as suspicious, residents of the neighborhood should not be concerned with their safety, said Bulloch County Sheriff's Inv. Jared Akins.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Deal at (912) 764-1788 or submit an anonymous tip to "tips@bullochsheriff.com."
