Police charged a woman in a missing persons case after locating a 16-year-old Statesboro girl in Screven County.
Talisa Marie Highsmith, 16, was found after having been missing since April 1, said Statesboro Police Det. Robert Bryan. "She is home with her parents and safe."
But Brittany Cheatham, 18, John's Lane, faces charges.
Bryan received information that Highsmith, a Statesboro High School student, may have been in the Screven County area, and in working with the Sylvania Police Department, his investigation led to a President Drive location in Screven County.
Cheatham was staying at the location, as well as Highsmith, he said.
Sylvania Police located the two and charged Cheatham with obstruction, he said.
Statesboro Police also charged Cheatham with obstruction, interference with child custody and false statements and writings, he said.
Highsmith's mother posted flyers seeking information on her daughter's whereabouts shortly after her disappearance April 1.
Bryan said Highsmith called some of her friends while she was away from home, but the calls were not traceable.
