A Metter man was killed Friday in a hit-and-run accident, and police hope citizens can help shed light on the case. Johnny Merchison, 54, was killed when the bicycle he was riding on was involved in a collision with an unknown vehicle at the intersection of Lee and North Trapnell Streets around 3:50 p.m., said Metter Police Chief Dennis Nelson. “The other vehicle involved in the collision with Mr. Merchison left the scene without rendering aid or reporting the collision to police,” he said.
