Man robs victims at gunpoint after night at their apartment
Statesboro Police Department patch

Multiple victims were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night by a "friend of a friend" who had been invited into their apartment.

The victims invited the man, whom they only knew by a nickname, to "hang out" at the 111 South apartment on Highway 67, said Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

After an evening of socializing, as the suspect got ready to leave, he pulled a gun and demanded cash, cellphones, shoes and other items, she said.

The victims "did not immediately report the robbery" and instead waited a while to call police because the suspect "threatened to come back and shoot them" if they reported the armed robbery.

No injuries were reported, she said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
