A missing persons call from a Florida resident Tuesday led Statesboro police to arrest a man on rape charges. Joe Amos Saxton, 45, Gadson Morris Road, Allendale, SC, was apprehended and taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he is held without bond as he awaits possible further charges, said Madison Brides, Statesboro Police Department public information specialist. Statesboro police officers received a call Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m. from a Jacksonville, Fla. resident, concerned about a missing person.
