Man arrested for taking 'substantial amount' of money from South Main Street residence

    Statesboro Police arrested a man Tuesday they said entered a South Main Street residence through a window and took a "large amount of money." Capt. L. C. Williams said David Frederick McGill,34, Parker Apartments, is charged with burglary after evidence collected during an investigation by Det. Terry Briley indicated he was connected to the crime. When McGill was taken to the Bulloch County  Jail, officers discovered he was also wanted on a probation warrant, Williams said. A "substantial amount" of the money was recovered and returned to the victim, he said.
