Man accused of molesting teen
Relationship was consensual, police say
Elvis Nunez

A Portal man is behind bars after his teenage girlfriend’s mother pressed charges of child molestation, said Portal Police Chief Jason Sapp.
Elvis Nunez, 24, Pecan Grove Mobile Home Park, Portal, is charged with child molestation and statutory rape, he said. Nunez is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl who is now allegedly pregnant with his child.
The teenager once lived in Portal in the same area as Nunez, Sapp said. She apparently became pregnant “around December or January,” and later moved to another town with her father.
The girl’s mother learned of the relationship and her daughter’s pregnancy, and wished to press charges against Nunez, he said.
Although the relationship was consensual and the two were reportedly dating, the age difference makes a sexual relationship between Nunez and the girl a crime due to the difference in ages and the girl not being old enough to legally consent to such a relationship.
Nunez is being held in the Bulloch County Jail awaiting further court hearings, according to jail reports.
