Statesboro Herald Operations Manager James Healy

Welcome to the first edition of the Statesboro Herald in our Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday printed form and our online Newsletter that is available every morning in your email.

Now that all of us have had a little more than a week to digest our change of publishing days from six to three, I hope your initial shock has worn off a little bit and you’re reading today’s paper. Even though I know you’re probably reading it a different time than you normally would.

At the risk of being a little redundant, I want to remind you of some of the changes you will see in the paper and to emphasize even more that the Herald’s new Newsletter will arrive in your email every morning at 4 a.m. The Newsletter will contain links to new stories, obituaries, sports and information every day on the Herald website – Not just on the days we publish the newspaper.

If you already were signed up for your email to receive our morning headlines previously, you automatically will be converted to receive the daily Newsletter. If you would like to receive the Newsletter, go to and click on any story. The sign-up for the Newsletter will appear on the right of your screen as you scroll down to read the story.

If you sign up on your smart phone or device, you would need to scroll down to the end of the story to find the Newsletter sign-up prompt.

If you would like some help in signing up for the Newsletter, please call our circulation department at (912) 489-9460.

Also, if you are a subscriber to the Herald, you automatically are subscribed to have access to all the stories on That includes our E-Edition, which is an easy-to-read replica of the print edition.

Again, we would be happy to help you gain access to your online subscription by calling (912) 489-9460.

So, in summary, here’s what’s different with the Statesboro Herald:

The printed paper will arrive with your mail every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The paper will be available early in the morning on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at your favorite stores in Bulloch County and in surrounding counties. And in the Herald racks around the area.

Dear Abby, comics, the crossword puzzle and Sudoku will be in every edition. The TV listings book will be delivered in your Thursday paper, and the Saturday edition will have all the insert advertising you would find in the Sunday paper.

The subscription price of the printed Herald will be reduced to $109 per year. Rates for shorter subscription terms will be reduced accordingly.

If you are a subscriber and have paid in advance, your subscription will be extended automatically.

Also, if you are an auto pay customer, the rate your credit or debit card or bank account is charged will be adjusted automatically.

We are offering a special subscription rate for all new and renewing subscribers for the month of October – $99 for a year or $50 for six months.

Change is difficult for all of us, and we want to try to make the transition for all our print and online readers as easy as possible.

Please call us or email me if we can help. Thanks for your continued support of the Statesboro Herald.
