What Does Shopping Local Really Mean?
McKeithen's LO
Co-owners Will Link and Tom McKeithen (not pictured, Thomas McKeithen) worked with Bulloch VOAD, Bulloch Strong and Bulloch Emergency Management to provide chainsaws and safety gear to Animal Services. This will enable Animal Services personnel to help out in hurricanes and other disaster situations.

We hear “shop local” a lot, but what does it really mean? It doesn't mean you should never shop at Amazon or a big-box store. They offer convenience, selection and competitive prices. Shopping local simply means making a conscious choice to keep some of your purchases in your own community when a locally owned business can meet your needs.

When you shop locally, you're supporting local employees, families and a business that invests in the community. You also get something an online search can't provide: a person who can answer your questions and help you choose the right product. Local businesses also support other local businesses and community organizations. Shopping local isn't about where you buy everything. It's about recognizing that where you spend your money helps shape the community you call home.

At McKeithen's Hardware we strongly believe in "giving back" and are proud to support a variety of organizations that focus on children and law enforcement.  We support these organizations through a variety of ways including direct cash gifts and discounted or free merchandise. These include Fostering Bulloch, Bulloch County Schools, Habitat for Humanity, Bulloch VOAD/Bulloch Strong, The 200 Club, Statesboro Police Officers Foundation, Georgia Police K9 Foundation and others.
