Freedom the Eagle, center, gives Jim and Russell a primer on the history of Georgia Southern University as the Bulloch County Historical Society Ole Scarecrow Medicine Show puppet theater returns to the the Emma Kelly Theater after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions. Averitt Center for the Arts staff and volunteer puppeteers staged four shows Thursday and Friday for Bulloch County public, private and home-schooled third graders to help them learn about Statesboro and Bulloch County history.
Working in partnership with the Averitt Center for the Arts, the Bulloch County Historical Society hosted its annual "Ol' Scarecrow Statesboro Medicine Show" on Thursday and Friday for third-grade students in Bulloch County's public and private elementary schools.
