Journalist Lisa Ling, correspondent for The Oprah Show and National Geographic, spoke to a packed house at Georgia Southern University’s Performing Arts Center Tuesday evening, sharing her eye-opening experiences in countries around the world.
As she revealed human stories about reporting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, North Korea, the Congo, and China, Ling talked about ways in which she has been able to effect change.
“Travel makes you smarter, and more human. The opportunity to travel has been invaluable to me,” Ling said. “The things I experienced in the world have changed my life.” She challenged her audience to find ways to make an impact on issues around the globe.
