    Editor:
On December 25, 2009, from noon-2 p.m., we hosted a Christmas luncheon for the senior citizens. They were given the opportunity to enjoy Santa Claus, a hot lunch and a gift bag.
Dr. Van Tassell and his family came and helped deliver meals to seniors on the homebound list.
They may not have had this experience had it not been for the charitable contributions made by the caring businesses and people of Statesboro. We would like to thank the following businesses and people for their generous donations: Dr. Van Tassell and family, Concerted Services, the Statesboro Herald, Mike Rollins of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department, the board of education (Dr. Lewis Holloway), Core Credit Union, On Time Fashions (Mr. Fred Alshuaibi), Big Head Barber Shop (Mr. Stanley Scott), B and J Car Wash (Jeff Coursey and Mrs. Barbara Scott), The Green Man (Theo Lanier), The Dollar Store in the mall (Ms. Emily Sprengler) and Brian Glenn.
A special thanks goes to Mrs. J. Bellinger and Mrs. Jo Ann Glenn for directing the serving of the meals.
