In an effort to make it easier for people to beautify their property, Keep Bulloch Beautiful will be instituting a community tool bank beginning August 1.
The tool bank, which is the first of its kind in Statesboro, will be open to groups, organizations and businesses that want to improve their building and/or landscaping appearances.
"There are many organizations, businesses and home owners in the area that are interested in maximizing their building's curb appeal by making exterior improvements to their yards, gardens and buildings," said Brooke Carney, director of Keep Bulloch Beautiful. "Many of them are not able to do so because they lack the tools and materials needed for landscaping and gardening jobs."
Carney said the tool bank will enable Statesboro citizens to check-out various types of gardening and landscaping tools, free of charge, for use and then return them.
"The improvement of one local property's appearance contributes to the beautification of our entire community," said Carney. "By establishing a community tool bank, we hope to make it easer and more convenient for Bulloch County citizens to take part in beautification efforts."
Inventory for the tool bank includes gardening and landscaping tools to painting supplies. A complete list can be found at www.keepbullochbeautiful.org.
Keep Bulloch Beautiful is also accepting donations to the tool bank. Those interested in doing so can contact Carney at (912) 764-6147.
