If you have driven out West Main Street, just past Julia P. Bryant Elementary School you can’t miss all of the activity happening at “In The Grove.”
In The Grove is a residential neighborhood that was originally developed by local developer Biff Thompson in 2007. It is a premier, upscale, development inside the city of Statesboro. There are many signature features with this development that set it apart including a large brick privacy fence surrounding the property, a beautifully landscaped gated entrance and mature pecan trees throughout the neighborhood.
This development certainly has many surprises, including great infrastructure like all city services, paved roads with curbing, sidewalks, street lights and a large interior brick privacy fence, which matches the exterior fencing that runs through the neighborhood, ensuring privacy for every home.
Thompson is known for his unique developments including Westridge neighborhood near Bulloch Academy and one of the most popular event venues in the city, “The Belle House.” The neighborhood was designed to accommodate 36 homes. Thompson had only built three homes in the subdivision when the local real estate market took a downward turn.
After shifting his focus to other projects, Thompson decided to sell the neighborhood to CFN Properties which is owned by local real estate broker and developer Jack Conner and developer and home builders Keely Fennell and Kyle NeSmith. These three are known for developing some of the most sought after neighborhoods in Bulloch County, including Johnson Run, High Cotton and Weatherstone.
“We are excited about bringing new life to this tremendously unique development,” said Keely Fennell, co-owner of Nesmith Construction. “Biff had a great vision in building an upscale development in the city unlike any other. We are focused on seeing his vision through in building out the development with upscale homes that complement the neighborhood. There is a large demand for this neighborhood offering leasing options for executives, professors and retirees.”
The new homes under construction include spacious four-bedroom floor plans, which will rent for $1,500 per month and beautiful three bedroom homes, which will rent for $1,300 per month. They plan to develop 12 homes this year and 12 additional homes in 2019 and 2020, based on demand.
The homes are being constructed to include high quality features such as granite countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, private patios, walk-in closets, walk-in ceramic tile showers, two car enclosed garages and stainless steel appliances.
“This is a unique development that gives leasing options for upscale maintenance free homes in a gated neighborhood, inside the city limits,” Fennell said. “The houses are single story and have lots of green space. No worries about cutting your grass or any of the other challenges that come with home ownership. You have the best of all worlds with enhanced privacy. The homes are single story so you don’t have to worry about neighbors above you.”
In The Grove will managed by Elite Property Management, a division of Coldwell Banker.
