When Chicken Salad Chick franchise owners Kelly and Tim Paslawski selected Statesboro as the city to open their third restaurant, they did everything right. They worked with experts on our local market to select the perfect location for their restaurant. They picked the perfect contractor and interviewed hundreds of potential employees to build the best team possible.
In addition to all of this, they made an early commitment to invest in our community and become more than just another business focused on locating here simply to suck cash out as fast as possible. Investing in communities they serve, becoming a great partner with the community and making a difference in these communities, in addition to providing customers with a wonderful product is the vision cast by founder Stacy Brown.
Months before they opened their doors in Statesboro, Kelly, Tim and their team were working hard in the community building partnerships with key charitable organizations, businesses and individuals with a focus on making a difference.
This investment has paid great dividends for Kelly and Tim in the short few months since they officially opened their doors in Statesboro. Chicken Salad Chick corporate recognized them with the “Highest Grand Opening Award.”
This award is presented to the location that outperformed the pack by following the grand opening program to perfection, staffing the restaurant and executing the guest experience at the highest level. As a result, the Statesboro Chicken Salad Chick location shattered records and holds the highest sales performance on grand opening day.
In addition, the Paslawski’s were named Chicken Salad Chick “Owners of the Year.” This is the top award given by Chicken Salad Chick and was awarded to the couple, “who have demonstrated the ability to meet and exceed standards including: revenue, profitability, brand standards, community involvement, product and process adoption.”
The Paslawski’s live the brand day in and day out, representing Chicken Salad Chick as one of its finest ambassadors.
So how did Kelly and Tim choose to celebrate their success? By enlarging their commitment to our community with a check to presentation to Pastor John Long’s Christian Social Ministry Food Pantry for $1,485. Christian Social Ministry is a faith-based ministry that strives to meet the daily needs of the less fortunate as well as share the Gospel.
During December 2017, the Chicken Salad Chick in Statesboro sold Giving Cards, which included $75 worth of coupons and an exclusive offer to guests for $5. All the proceeds benefitted Christian Social Ministry.
“At Chicken Salad Chick, we are passionate about connecting with local groups in our community to help feed the hungry,” Kelly Paslawski said. “We were honored to partner with Christian Social Ministry and it was wonderful to see our team members and community come together to support this cause.”
The Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Ala., was established in 2008 in the kitchen of founder, Stacy Brown. When Brown discovered that the local county health department would not allow her to continue making and selling her delicious recipes out of her home kitchen, she overcame that obstacle by launching her first restaurant with the business expertise of her future husband and fellow founder, Kevin Brown. Together, they opened a small takeout restaurant, which quickly grew; the company now has more than 80 restaurants across the Southeast.
