Members of the Bulloch County Historical Society have a limited time to obtain tickets to a sumptuous meal, great entertainment and a silent auction at the group’s upcoming 41st annual meeting.
The meeting will be held June 22, at 6 p.m. at Georgia Southern University’s Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, said Joe McGlamery, Bulloch County Historical Society’s president.
The event is limited to members and guests, and tickets must be purchased by noon June 17, he said. They are $25 a person and are available at the front desk of the Statesboro Herald.
The program will be a presentation of “The Ol’ Scarecrow Statesboro Medicine Show,” which was recognized in 2014 by the Georgia Historical Society, McGlamery said.
A meal will be served, preceded by hors d’oeuvres and fruit punch. A cash bar with beer and wine will also be available.
Silent auction items include several unique and historical items including a set of eight Waterford crystal glasses; a cookout for 10 at The Farm; a diamond ring from the original stock of Grimes Jewelry; a Statesboro Bicentennial commemorative plate; a fish fry for 10 at Broken Silo Farm; an assortment of peanut brittle, relishes and barbecue sauce; local honey and artwork.
