Bulloch County EMS, fire and other emergency personnel responded Tuesday around 1:20 p.m. to Interstate 16 near the Ash Branch Church Road exit, where an 18-wheeler and a passenger car collided. Bulloch County 911 reported the car inhabitants were entrapped and the car was on fire, and Statesboro HazMat teams were called out due to the tanker having a placard indicating it carried sulfuric acid. However, responders arrived to find the tanker empty, and extricated the car passengers while dousing the fire.
