GSP: Cows cause wreck
Woman injured
GSP accident
Loose cattle in the roadway caused a single-vehicle accident Monday night about 4 miles northwest of Portal. At 9:06 p.m., Patricia Sweat, 61, of Fannie Brewer Road in Twin City, was traveling west on Highway 80, approaching its intersection with W.D. Peacock and Aaron Station roads, when she struck dairy cows owned by Ethan Burkholder, 31, of W.D. Peacock Road, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 45 reports. Sweat’s 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix struck one of several cows loose in the roadway and traveled almost 200 feet, left the roadway and overturned.
