Great Dane was recognized recently as a "Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation.
Presented by "Redefining the Road," the official magazine of "Women in Trucking," the award highlights organizations committed to creating meaningful opportunities for women across the transportation industry, according to a release from Great Dane.
Great Dane has operated a 450,000-square-foot Statesboro factory in Bulloch County's Gateway Industrial Park since April 2012.
Recipients were selected through a multi-step process that included company nominations, an evaluation period and voting by thousands of transportation professionals. Participants represented a broad range of roles across the industry, including executive leadership, operations, talent management, professional driving and manufacturing.
"Being recognized as a Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation is an honor for Great Dane," said Mel Cohen, Interim CEO for Great Dane. "We're especially proud because this distinction reflects the voices of transportation professionals across the industry and underscores the culture we continue to build together.
"The talented women throughout our organization bring invaluable expertise, leadership, and innovation to every aspect of our business, helping us better serve our customers and strengthen our company. We are grateful for their contributions and pleased to be recognized for our commitment to creating opportunities where all employees can grow and succeed."
Women in Trucking created the distinction to promote the accomplishments of companies that have focused on hiring, retaining and advancing women in an industry historically dominated by men, offering opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
