A Glennville man was charged with armed robbery after police officers spotted him near the scene of the crime Tuesday night. A 20-year-old male victim told Statesboro police a man held him at gunpoint on East Cherry Street at 11:23 p.m. Tuesday, robbing him of a small amount of cash, according to police incident reports. Officers quickly located a suspect on Savannah Avenue “exactly matching” the description given by the victim and took Branden Rashad Lanier, 27, into custody.
